This would be for the aura. If the blood vessels expand, after this spasm, and then back to normal again, could be the cause of the severe pain.
More and more doctors come to the conclusion that it is not a disease of the blood vessels, but is primarily neurological as many sufferers report a sore tenderness in the area where the pain was. This may take a few days after the attack. Read more »
